A Mindful Journey Workshop

The Workshop

A Workshop aimed at providing Teachers with the tools to begin to lead their students on an exploratory creative journey of discovery and self expression. Learning to follow the joy enables the art to flow and make itself known. There are no rules.

Intuition and an ability to let go of any expectation are the powerful driving force behind Sandra’s art making and this Workshop.

We are all the sum of many parts. We love to experience many different things and this is what makes us all the rich individuals that we are. Mixed media and collage offer a wide scope for exploration and discovery. Any byproducts are a bonus but it’s the journey that is most rewarding.

Freedom of exploration, expression and the importance of play are all key ingredients in this creative workshop.

Who’s it for?

Adults and children alike will benefit from this Workshop.

One Teacher commented,

‘I am going to do a staff meeting on mixed media/well being and then with [the] children.’

What you’ll learn

It’s as important to acknowledge that every individual’s preferences are as valid as anyone else’s… there are no rules, you can’t go wrong and we are all unique. A Mindful Journey is about noticing what it is that the individual particularly enjoys. This will enable the student to start to express and communicate with their own individual voice. Building on confidence, self-esteem and self acceptance.

Here are a few things you can expect:

  • A calm and absorbed class/room!
  • A lifting of fear and preconceived outcomes.
  • A joy and sense of well-being as a result of the full immersion in the process.

Reviews from Hampshire Schools Art Conference 2023

Teachers feedback and ideas to incorporate the Workshop in their Classroom settings…

[I will] try Sandra’s workshop ideas in the classroom to support mindfulness and imagination with {the} children – [I] may link to rivers topic

I am going to do a staff meeting on mixed media/well being and then with children.

I found the art workshop with Sandra so useful, the idea that everyone’s artwork should be different.

Introduce the work I did with Sandra to my class and school. I loved the idea of no limits and building up surfaces. I am going to link it to my Mary Anning fossil project.

Thank you for joining me and for providing such a rich experience for teachers.
