Reviving the ancient craft of marbling…
Get creating beautiful cards, gift tags, baubles, hanging decorations or decorative garlands in this fun for all workshop.
This ancient craft was practiced in Japan as early as the 12th century. Early forms of Japanese marbling were called Suminagashi, or “ink floating”. Delicate, swirled patterns are produced on paper when ink is floated on the surface of water.
We’re going to use special marbling inks but we’ll discuss how you can play with shaving foam and acrylic inks or use up old nail varnish to make decorations – good ventilation permitting! You don’t have to be able to draw, paint or have any previous experience.
On hand, is the expert help and gentle guidance of artist and art teacher Sandra Heath. This workshop is suitable for all ages, including anyone who would love to unleash their creative side for a few hours, resulting in fabulously fun pieces of art!
